MOLD INSPECTION

Mold Inspection

At Genesis, we find a majority of the mold is found either in the basement or crawlspace of your home or business. After that, the mold seems to work its way up through the space via air conditioning ducts and that can create bigger issues. We always try to locate the moisture source. Remember, mold does not need water to live. All it needs to live is moisture and organic material. Temperature is not really an issue.

We’re going to ask you if you have ever felt or had:

2.Sinus Conditions

3.Headaches

4.Rashes

5.Upper Respiratory Infections

6.Fatigued

We then do a full inspection of the basement or crawlspace and other areas that show signs of mold or water damage; Ex: attic, ceilings, bathrooms, etc. We look for the following:

1.Physical Mold or Bio-Growth

2.Leaky Pipes

3.Wet Carpet and Padding

4.Rotten or Soft Drywall/Ceiling Tiles

5.Rotting or Buckling Paneling

6.Rotten Floor Joists or Sub-Flooring

7.Unusual Odors or Smells

8.Areas of Possible Water Intrusion

Genesis then documents everything with pictures and a written inspection report. If you are dealing with your insurance company, they will need all of this information. We highly advise the homeowner have an inspector from Genesis be present when the insurance adjuster does his inspection.

We will then sit down with the home or business owner, review the inspection report, answer all questions and discuss all your options. Please do not take the report lightly. Mold can cause a serious health risk as well as structural damage to your home or business
